The Milwaukee Bucks come into the week on the heels of a loss on Sunday afternoon to Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets. In that game, Durant had 31 points, as Milwaukee let a lead slip late, putting their record at 6-4 through their first 10 games of the season. Of their losses, two have come on the road, and Sunday marks their second loss of the season already at Fiserv Forum. In some ways, this is a team still looking to find their rhythm, even if they started off the season on a hot streak.
When you break it down, the Bucks are very much playing 6-4 basketball right now. As a team, Milwaukee is averaging 120 points per game through their first ten games. They’re also giving up, on average, 118.5 points per game. Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the league in scoring, with 33.8 points per game, but he currently also has a +/- rating of 56, meaning he’s scored just 56 more points than opposing teams when he’s on the court. In comparison, the top ten players in the league in +/- have ratings of 95 or higher. So while Giannis is scoring tons of points per game, teams are also figuring out ways to attack the Bucks with the Greek Freak on the court.
Milwaukee has yet to win more than two games in a row, but with four games this week and most of them looking favorable for the Bucks, they have a chance to rectify that. Here’s what is up next:
Monday, November 10 at Dallas, 7:30 p.m. (FanDuel Wisconsin)
The Bucks are on a back-to-back to start the week, flying to Dallas for the first of a two-game road stint. There, they’ll face a 3-7 Dallas team that has yet to put together a winning streak so far. They did, however, win on Saturday night in Washington, thanks to 30 points from forward Naji Marshall. Dallas is still in rebuilding mode after the infamous trade sending Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers last season, and while they have #1 overall pick Cooper Flagg to bolster their roster, forward Anthony Davis is listed as questionable for tonight’s game with a calf injury. Fatigue from two consecutive games and a flight in between is never easy, but Milwaukee has a chance to get back to their winning ways on Monday night.
Wednesday, November 12 at Charlotte, 6:00 p.m. (FanDuel Wisconsin)
Wednesday starts a unique home-and-home series with the Charlotte Hornets, with the first game tipping off from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte. The Bucks won the season series with the Hornets last year, but Charlotte has felt like a thorn in their side for some time now, with LaMelo Ball putting up 50 points against Milwaukee last November. Ball is listed as out for Monday night’s game against the Lakers, and Charlotte is also currently dealing with injuries to forwards Grant Williams and Miles Bridges, as well as guard Josh Green. We’ll see if an injury-riddled Hornets team continues to sting Milwaukee.
Friday, November 14 vs Charlotte, 7:00 p.m. (FanDuel Wisconsin)
The Bucks return home for the back half of the home-and-home on Friday, with the second game of their 2025 NBA Cup group play against Charlotte. The games count towards the regular season standings, but the in-season tournament setting has been favorable for the Bucks. Aside from one loss to the Pacers in the inaugural year of the tournament, Milwaukee is 13-1 in the NBA Cup, and are the reigning champions. While it doesn’t mean as much as the other trophies in their display case, it is still hardware, and a motivating factor for the team when they return to Fiserv Forum on Friday night.
Saturday, November 15 vs Los Angeles Lakers, 7:00 p.m. (NBA TV)
The week rounds out with another back-to-back situation for Milwaukee, this time with arguably their toughest opponent of the week. A Saturday night showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers sees the Bucks in primetime and televised nationally once again. The Lakers come into the week only losing one of their last six games, and rolling behind the breakout play of guard Austin Reaves so far this year. Reaves will miss a game on Monday night with a groin injury, but the Lakers still have a stacked lineup with Luka Doncic, Marcus Smart, Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton. LeBron James has also been cleared for basketball contact and has yet to play this season, with his timetable for returning to the court up in the air.
